ZSIS's History

The history of Zahrat Al-Sahraa International School is a vast record of occurrences so many people regard so good to be true!

22 students... That was what ZSIS included about 23 years ago.

Almost 2000 students... That is what ZSIS includes today!

It would be no exaggeration saying that ZSIS would have been nothing had its supportive community not existed in the first place. This "community" is ZSIS oxygen as it has ever enhanced the school’s existence, performance, and improvement across years...

Sometimes, I recline in my rocking chair and ponder on memories long since been. I ponder on times I had all those 22 seeds of ZSIS’ success educated nowhere but in a small house I afforded then. I think of how pleasant it was to us, the little ZSIS by then, to move to two villas later on, then to three, then to a housing complex, and last to this wonderfully equipped school place at present. . . And with wisps of tears bordering the rims of my eyes, I do whisper in the silences of my soul: "You’ve truly made something, Najah!"

The way ZSIS has advanced its education is marvelous too, for ZSIS instruction has gone through a variety of curricula performances before it arrived at the American Curriculum as the school’s sole guidance. Across almost thirteen years, ZSIS has taught the Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, and Jordanian curricula before it had all its core subjects standardized within the frame of the American Curriculum. Thenceforth started the serious efforts towards getting the American Accreditation, and so it was.

The American ADVANC-ED Accreditation... That was ZSIS giant step almost a decade ago. And we did get it, highly appreciated for all the tremendous work the subsequent American QAR team members could witness in the midst of ZSIS teaching-learning community.

ZSIS has been truly successful at retaining all its community members fully dedicated to the principles our Mission and Vision Statement has seeded in their loyal and fertile hearts. Our graduates (7 batches by now) have not only enrolled at reputable universities across the world, but have asserted that ZSIS is more than a Kingdom school: ZSIS has been a knowledge and discipline haven - - a haven those graduates and every ZSIS community member owe so much for good.

It is here, I may say, where another story begins...

ZSIS has started a trail of success it intends to keep up...

Thank you for considering Zahrat Al Sahra’a International School as the educational home for your family. Like most of ZSIS families, you certainly have high academic and moral expectations for your children, and so, you are actively engaged in your children’s school life. You may be looking for a school which will support them academically while treating them as individuals; helping them through their transition life stages while instilling the required skills and knowledge for those apples of the eyes to make any other future transitions so gracefully.

Ever since it was established in 1988, ZSIS has provided an educational home for thousands of students. Academically, our results are among the best in the Kingdom. Our American accreditation by the CITA (NCA, Advanced) ensures that our standards, practices and principles are regularly scrutinized by an accrediting organization in the USA. At ZSIS, and under the supervision of AdvancED, we make every effort to foster an environment that helps develop the ethical values and intellectual abilities of our students. Like you, we have high expectations for your children, and such self-examination ensures that our children will be given the best possible academic preparation for their next education and global status.

Such a sublime goal of pursuing excellence has earned us recognition that outlasts school’s prolonged age. Our graduates' achievements in standardized exams have earned them places in the best universities worldwide. Educational consultants from various Arab, European, and American universities visit our campus annually to maximize candidature from our graduating classes.

A true understanding of self-evaluation practices and professional development needs has helped create many intra-staff seminars, workshops, and open platform discussions leading to an energized work atmosphere that’s ever evolving. Faculty members are encouraged to experiment newer ways of teaching and handling the unique issues and problems that surface in day-to-day teaching.

Education experts are regular contributors to our staff development. In addition, some of our qualified teachers have become members on reputed accreditation teams. Our honest commitment to professional development and proper delivery of knowledge transfuses great awareness of learning processes into the classroom, making sure the end user, your child, gets immersed in the best possible learning context.

Beyond the academic program, our students realize their responsibilities towards the world community around them. Students’ indoor community service activities, projects, and presentations testify our students’ growing sense of responsibility and community belonging.
