Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten program is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 6. Through their first years of school children form the essential basics for a strong foundation that helps them attain their full potential. We, at ZSIS, focus principally on the development, by giving full and proper attention to the different aspects of development

  • Motor skills
  • Communication/ Language skills
  • Cognitive development
  • Social/ Emotional development

Each child's progress is closely monitored and assessed in each of these fields to ensure positive growth and healthy development. Reading, writing, mathematics, and science are basic parts of our Kindergarten curriculum which are supported by a stimulating environment that enhances every child's learning abilities.

In ZSIS, we strongly believe that children learn best through fun and play. Therefore, activities are in abundant and form an integral part of the curriculum.

The various types of activities are designed to promote specific abilities and can be generally summarized as follows

  • Abstract Intelligence Development
  • Confidence Building
  • General Awareness
  • Situation Management

By the end of the Kindergarten stage, children would have learnt all the basic skills that would prepare them to go on to the next level, the Upper-elementary grades. The basic point here is our ability to help the child pass through a smooth transition from one grade level to another avoiding any educational or developmental gap that could cause an unhealthy settlement.

ZSIS offers a complete education package in a nurturing environment where individual children can flourish. In grades 1-3, small classes of 18 students or less, provide a strong curriculum in basic skills, enhanced with enrichment activities. Values, education, and discipline are interwoven into every program. Updated materials and techniques are regularly examined and implemented. All areas of our program come together to prepare life-long learners.

  • In communication arts, we have applied a program with ample avenues to develop reading, grammar, spelling, and communication skills.
  • Trade books, library materials, and spelling bees enhance reading and writing curriculum.
  • Developmental approaches combining repetition with new concepts are used to aid learning in math.
  • Science activities and projects help enhance students' skills.
  • In addition, library visits for developing reading and research skills are available.
  • Students are introduced to software and internet usage at computer labs.
  • Comprehensive sports and arts classes enhance physical and social development giving opportunities to develop individual talents.
  • Beyond academics, we offer our students opportunities to display their individual styles at numerous events. Mother's Day, Teacher's Day, and Eid celebrations are examples of these events.
  • Power point presentation in morning assembly on Sundays.

At ZSIS, we have the firm conviction that quality teaching lies at the heart of education. It is such a conviction that sets our standards for leading successful classrooms, developing professional teachers, and planning up-to-date work all along.

Personally, I believe all education starts at the kindergarten stage. It is here where we trigger children’s curiosity and immerse them in the proper educational and ethical contexts. It is here where children learn to learn, share, hold hands, and have fun.

If ever a word of thanks is to be made here, nobody would be worthier of it than those kindergarten teachers who have recruited their experience, time, and efforts to ensure the healthy growth and intellectual advancement of our children. I do conduct them my incessant thanks. We have been a great team.
